Santiago, October 06, 2022 – The International Construction Fair, which took place at the new Parque FISA fairgrounds, showed this year a special concern for the sustainable growth of the industry, generating spaces to learn about technological advances and different initiatives to improve the productivity of companies, the operation of projects, as well as to contribute to overcoming the housing deficit. The meeting, which attracted a large number of visitors during the three-day event, was attended by the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Carlos Montes, who toured the pavilions of the construction fair and visited the various products and services featured at the event. “I was very impressed by the exhibition, particularly with regard to industrialized housing, which is the issue that concerns us. Here we came a large team from the Ministry, precisely to learn about the different modalities and the different materials, and try to get a lot of strength to extend this in our emergency plan”, said the Secretary of State. The fair was spread over 75 thousand square meters of exhibition space, bringing together more than a thousand brands, seeking to reaffirm Chile’s important role in the construction industry and investment. On the occasion, the Secretary of State indicated that “I asked the housing committees to come to Edifica, particularly those who have some possibility of accessing industrialized housing, because there is nothing better than seeing houses being assembled, knowing the conditions in which they are located, and the alternatives that exist to build them. I invite all committee leaders who are thinking of presenting projects to get to know the 10 full-scale housing assemblies, which will help them to advance in their projects”. At the meeting, the different actors in the sector were able to learn about new products and services that will help them reduce costs, optimize construction processes and make their projects more efficient and sustainable. Regarding the exhibitors and the innovations presented at the international fair, Montes said that it is essential that Edifica continues to be a place for the exchange of knowledge, visions and experiences, especially in the area of modernizing technology. “Because of the pandemic, we were not able to hold events of this magnitude before due to capacity. It is very important to have this type of meeting. The issue of industrialized housing has been very useful for us, particularly as the Ministry of Housing,” said Minister Montes, adding that “I congratulate this fair. It can be seen that there is quite a lot of circulation of people of all kinds, from students to businessmen. And this means that this meeting has an impact on technology, and has an impact on the knowledge of the different people who visit it”. Finally, the top representative of Housing and Urban Development said that “we hope that Edifica continues to be a great fair that contributes to the country’s challenges and to the strengthening of the construction industry, for the benefit of the citizens”.
