Friday 22 de October del 2021

More than 1000 exhibitors and brands will be present at the XVI most important exhibition and International Congress of Latin American mining, Expomin 2021 that will be held between October 25 and 29. The general manager of Fisa of the GL events Group, Francisco Sotomayor, organizer of the fair, stressed that “we are very excited, because after 2 years without seeing each other we are sure that nothing replaces face-to-face”. In this new version of the mining exhibition he said that “from here we want to be a contribution to the economic reactivation and the generation of employment. In this framework, we are working together with the Ministry of Mining a special area for more than 40 mining entrepreneurs and SMEs that were affected as a result of the pandemic.” Likewise, Sotomayor stressed that we will have an important space for the exchange of knowledge through the International Congress that will have 17 panels with more than 60 rapporteurs and panelists from government, industry and technology companies from more than 15 countries. And during the 5 days of the fair there will be professional meetings where companies can contact buyers and decision makers. It should be noted that in the face-to-face version of 2018 the exhibitors declared having completed deals for about US $ 1,800 million. While in the virtual version of Expomin held in November 2020, exhibitors declared to have generated Leads for US $ 1,222 million. These figures, added to the more than 9,000 jobs generated around Expomin, reflect the importance of this type of instance, especially in a context in which the country and the world need to reactivate their economies after the profound impact generated by the pandemic and particularly in the case of fairs, essential business platforms that have not been carried out in Chile in person since October 2019. The bi-minister of Energy and Mining and honorary president of Expomin, Juan Carlos Jobet stressed that “we are very happy with the realization of the exhibition considering that it is an important instance to promote new investment projects and share experiences in terms of innovation and good practices, considering that the mining sector has played and will continue to play a fundamental role in the economic and social growth of the country”. The Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism, Lucas Palacios described as excellent news the realization of Expomin, “the exhibition becomes more relevant today, because it will undoubtedly be a contribution to the economic reactivation at a time when the country needs it. This, because more than 70% of the exhibitors at the fair are SMEs that will benefit in this ecosystem where the national and international mining industry meets and articulates”.
