The most important mining fair in Latin America, Expomin 2025, is preparing for a new edition, which will take place between April 22 and 26 at Espacio Riesco. This event, organized by FISA, part of the GL events group, seeks to continue consolidating itself as the key meeting point for the mining industry, with a focus on innovation, sustainability and connection with communities.
“This is the way in which Expomin 2025 is built, jointly, with work teams, with different opinions that allow us to build a highly successful fair, that looks at the communities, that looks at the territories, at innovation”, said the Minister of Mining, Aurora Williams, during one of the activities linked to the event and where she also highlighted the relevance of the fair and the way in which they have worked on its organization.
“Expomin has become a space where key players in the mining sector converge to discuss and explore new development opportunities for the industry,” she added.
One of the announcements highlighted in the run-up to the exhibition was the Expomin 2025 Mobility Plan, which seeks to optimize the experience of attendees, mitigating the environmental impact and offering sustainable transportation options.
“The Expomin 2025 mobility plan is positioned as a model of innovation at the national level, offering efficient solutions that transform this country’s event into a pilot experience for future large-scale meetings,” said Francisco Sotomayor, CEO of GL events.
As part of this initiative, satellite parking lots will be set up in the Parque Arauco shopping mall, from where buses will depart to Espacio Riesco every 30 minutes. In addition, the Nuevo Pudahuel Airport will facilitate the mobility of international visitors with shuttle buses, support staff and bilingual information.
All these measures seek to improve the accessibility of the event, guaranteeing a smooth experience for attendees and promoting the use of more environmentally friendly means of transportation.
Carbon neutrality
Another great novelty of Expomin 2025 is its commitment to sustainability. On this point, Carola Fuentes, general manager of FISA, emphasized that “it will be the first carbon neutral edition, an important milestone that we are working on together with Colbún, which is our strategic partner for this initiative”.
“The commitment to sustainability is not only limited to the reduction of the carbon footprint, but also involves the implementation of clean technologies in the organization of the event,” added the FISA executive.
In addition, in an unprecedented event, Expomin will open its doors to the community on Saturday, April 26, offering a day dedicated to the community and families. Between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, the mining pavilion and the large suppliers’ area will be open to the public.
It is expected that this opening to the community will contribute to generate greater proximity and knowledge about the mining industry, strengthening the ties between the sector and the citizens.
Regarding international participation, the exhibition will have the outstanding presence of delegations from more than 35 countries, reaffirming its position as a key space for the development and collaboration of the mining industry at a global level. Finland, in fact, will be the special guest country at this edition.
“The choice of Finland is not accidental. The country will bring leading companies in the mining field, specialists for the International Congress and will contribute with cultural and educational events, generating links with young professionals in the industry”, closed Francisco Sotomayor.
Expomin 2025 expects the participation of more than 1,300 exhibitors, more than 180 SMEs and the attendance of more than 70,000 visitors, consolidating itself as one of the most important mining fairs in the world.
The exhibition culminated with the visit of the former Undersecretary of Public Health, who toured the stands and participated in the last panel of the congress, which this year had absolute gender parity among its participants for the first time.
