In the first days of November, Carola Fuentes shared from her LinkedIn account a couple of reflections linked to one of the most relevant milestones in her professional life: becoming the first general manager of Fisa in its history.
“I am very excited about what is to come: joining Fisa and its exceptional team, taking on new challenges and continuing to work for the development of Chile and its companies from a new perspective,” wrote Carola, a commercial engineer and MBA from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, who has more than 20 years of experience in business development and management of multidisciplinary teams in various industries.
“Honored to participate and contribute to this wonderful project,” she added in her virtual space.
Carola began her career at Entel, then moved to Movistar, and moved to Peru to be part of Americatel, to return to Tyco & Security two years later, where she served as assistant business manager.
After a period of changes, the executive landed in the place where she spent the last 12 years: Icare Chile, a business corporation whose purpose is to promote business excellence in the country- and where, as development manager, she led private and public, face-to-face and digital activities, animating Circles (working committees) with members of the main companies in Chile, and organizing such renowned events as ENADE, Marketing Congress and People Congress, among others.
“To those who have accompanied me on this path, know that you can always count on me. And to those I will meet, I am happy to undertake this shared challenge and excited about what we will achieve together”, said Carola, in her first days as general manager of Fisa, the country’s main trade fair company, and in which she will work together with its executive director and CEO of GL events Chile, Francisco Sotomayor.
“It is an honor to have a professional of Carola’s caliber. Her confidence in our project reflects the important role that Fisa plays in the country, articulating fairs and congresses in key sectors such as mining, energy, health, security, and the maritime-port and aquaculture field, among others,” said Sotomayor, who also valued the moment in which the new incorporation arrives, who will actively participate in the design and execution of recognized exhibitions such as Expomin, Aquasur, Exponaval, Hyvolution, ExpoSalud and SeguridadExpo, among others.
“Carola Fuentes arrives at a time of full expansion of GL events in Chile, after concluding a successful cycle with the Pan American Games Santiago 2023, and consolidating our operation of more than 60MUSD per year with our subsidiaries Tarpulin, Metropolitan Santiago and Fisa”, added the director of the Chilean subsidiary of the French multinational.
